Mead and Puppies Return to The Georgia Renaissance Festival

Get excited, It’s time to feast on giant turkey legs, indulge in the nectars of the gods, and be entertained like royalty while watching knights joust! The Georgia Renaissance Festival returns this year from April 9th through May 30th, bringing Monks Mead back with it for our 8th year. There will also be pirate puppies, but more on that later.

Quench your thirst with not only our flagship Monks Mead, and the classic Dragons Nectar, but a brand new mead, Bacchus Blushed. This new, refreshing, pink drink started in our taproom as an experimental mead, but became so popular we had to bring it back. We know you’re going to love this ultimate, boozy, summer refreshment, so make sure to give it a try at the Renaissance Festival. However, if not, you will find it available on tap and to take home in our tasting room.

The New Bacchus Blushed

There is something for everyone, whether you’re bringing the whole family, coming out with friends, taking a date, or coming to cosplay and immerse yourself in the environment. That something starts with food. Who doesn’t  want a giant pretzel, a smoked turkey leg or a funnel cake? Besides the festival food and the knight jousting, you will be entertained by wandering creatures and characters, live music, 15+ shows, mingling cosplay attendees, shopping and craft demonstrations at the Artisan’s market, and games and rides for the kids.

Among the new entertainment of 2022, The Renaissance Festival is holding a special ticketed Pub Crawl. Grab your souvenir tankard and wander into each of the 3 pubs for a different brew. While you wander, put your mead down for a free juggling lesson in the Olde Towne area. And stumble into the Crown Stage to watch a Mud Show of backflips and belly flops with your friends.

The Puppies of Penzance

The new Puppies of Penzance also caught our attention! While family-friendly, we don’t know a single soul that doesn’t enjoy seeing a bunch of cute pups! Make sure to make your way to the Halfwit Harbor Stage to see a pirate ship manned by puppies. You also don’t want to miss these impossible escapes from Judas and Magnolia nor the Birds of Prey demonstration where hawks, eagles, and owls free-fly right over your heads. Check here for a full list and a schedule of entertainment.

Of course, the outing would not be a complete experience without shopping at demonstrations at the Artisan Market. You will find over 100+ master artisans and the perfect one-of-a-kind gift for yourself, or anyone else. Enjoy watching hair braiding, yarn weaving, jewelry making, glass blowing, and even proper bow and arrow shooting demonstrations. For a full list of vendors and demonstrations, please check here.
